Georgia (2-0) vs. Middle Tennessee (1-1) Game Preview

One Reason Why Georgia Will Win

The Bulldogs took care of business … yawn.

It was a crazy atmosphere at South Carolina, the Gamecock team is and was good enough to come up with a big performance, and the Bulldogs left town with a 41-17 win.

That’s what national championship-level teams are supposed to do.

Without much of a pass rush so far, the pass defense has been fantastic so far, and it’s been great at getting off the field in a hurry. Against Austin Peay and South Carolina, Georgia has allowed just 26 first downs – almost half as many as the Bulldog offense is generating.

So far, the Middle Tennessee offensive line is having a problem, and the secondary hasn’t been good. The Bulldogs are about to beat up the Blue Raiders on the lines, and Jake Fromm will throw at will, but …

One Reason Why Middle Tennessee Will Win

The Blue Raiders have a pass rush.

Granted, they did most of their work against UT Martin, but they were able to generate plays in the backfield last week need to sell out to get to Fromm and Justin Fields.

The passing game ability is there – it just didn’t rock against Vanderbilt.

Brent Stockstill is still hitting 70% of his passes with 585 yards with six interceptions and a pick, and he’s got the experience and the receiving corps to push around the Georgia secondary a little bit if the Dawgs aren’t fully focused.

It’s sandwich game time. The South Carolina game was the big statement moment, and a trip to Mizzou is coming up next. The Blue Raiders have to hope for the letdown.
